Obituary of James Edward Moore
Business owner and U.S. Army veteran James Edward Moore, a West Allis resident for 10 years died June 6, 1997 at Froedtert Memorial Lutheran Hospital. Born in Ontario, Wis/. he was 84. Mr Moore was a member of the U.S. Army stationed at Fort Snelling, where he handled the last field-drawn artillery. Duties included parading caissons, the horse-drawn wagon that carried ammunition.
He owned and operater Moore Floor Resurfacing for more than 20 years, before he retired 22 years ago. He belonged to Bethany-Calvary United Methodish Church. A past governor of Moose Lodge No. 49, he also belonged to the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge No. 1019 West Allis.
He was an avid reader and enjoyed playing cards, particularly sheepshead and cribbage. Travel was another of his favorite pastimes. He was preseded in death by a son, Lonnie Lee. Survivors included his wife of 62 years, Anne (nee Bundesen); two daughters, Joanne (Roland) Londo of Sturgeion Bay and Nancy (Merle) Parker of West Allis; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and a sister-in-law.
The rev. Bill Morten officiated at services held June 11 at Harder Funeral Home. Interment was in Wisconsin Memorial Park.
