Friends Shocked by Death of J. Bundesen Jess Peter Bundesen (May 30, 1888 - March 23, 1953) The sudden death of Mr. Jess Bundesen on March 19th came to his friends as quite a shock. He went to the hospital, Wednesday, March 4, on the advice of his doctor, a thorough check up revealed nothing of serious nature, bue he underwent surgery for a hernia. Complications in the form of cerebral hemmorhage and bronchial pneumonia followed. He seemed to rally and talked of planting flowers, his favorite hobby, but then he had a relapse. Jess Bundesen was born May 30, 1877 in Denmark. While there he married Johanne Iversen. In 1912, they came to this country, settling in Owen where they have resided for the past 42 years. To this union three children were born. Jess, Jr. a daughter Anne and a son Hans (dwho preceded him in dath on August 12,1928. He worked for many years at the John S. Owen Lumber Co. and lived on a farm north of the city. Until the day he went to the hospital he worked at the Frederick Post Co. He leaves to mourn his wife, Johanne, a son, Jess and a daughter-in-law, Dorothy, a daughter Anne, and son-in-law, Edward Moore, 6 grandchildren, of Milwaukee, 4 sisters residing in Denmark and many friends.
